Welcome to Country Dawn Quilting and Patchwork. We opened as an internet business on the 1st of July 2008.

The name Country Dawn was chosen because of my love for all things 'country', but mostly in memory of our much-loved Mum, Dawn - a very talented and versatile lady who died of cancer in 1996 at 59 years of age. While sadly leaving behind many unfinished quilt projects, happily she passed on her love of fabric, colour and attention to detail, among many other things.

Country Dawn is based on our dairy farm in rural Northland, New Zealand - which is why a little black cow follows your mouse around on the front page of this website and the black rubber farm boots (known as gumboots here in New Zealand) are on most of the website pages somewhere. I am so grateful to be able to combine two such diverse business adventures, in a lovely peaceful setting, while having the encouragement and support of some truly wonderful people.

We hope you enjoy browsing amongst all the beautiful fabrics and wonderful patterns. Please feel free to send us an email if you'd like any further information on something that catches your eye.

Due to the business being in an area that has yet to receive modern phone cable we have a manual fax system - if you wish to fax us please phone or email first to avoid frustration :)

All fabric listed is sold in metric increments, if you'd like to order:

- a fat quarter please enter .25 in the quantity box
- half a metre enter .5
- three quarters of a metre enter .75
